Jerwin Parker

Jerwins' journey has been described as a touching story by many individuals and has been saught as an influential role model for many young individuals. His full

Often referred to as a"Jack of All Trades" by colleagues and peers, he aims to promote that figure of speech by utilizing a range of skills and experiences to create compelling strategies to tackle complex and wicked problems.

His philosophy to learn and grow began with his love for Health and Fitness, by facilitating positive mindset changes to individuals and peers through nutrition, natural bodybuilding and the utilisation of mindfulness meditation in his everyday lifestyle.

He is a lifelong learner and believes in no single mastery, He studied the Bachelor of Business (Ext. Marketing/Management) and the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS and is selected to undertake UTS first degree, Bachelor of Entrepreneurship (Honours)

 

He was a scholar to the Beyond UTS International Leadership Development program, and studied abroad at the prestigious Ateneo De Manila University, fulfilling his parents dreams of attending one of the Philippines most prestigious universities; before their migration to Australia, and provided youth leadership, learned and became immersed in the topic of ‘poverty’, its stakeholders and social impact. 

 

His areas of expertise include marketing, social entrepreneurship, management and admin, sales, leadership, customer service and event management. He has a passion for utilising human-centered design methodologies in both corporate & start-up settings, aiming to look into how to better implement diversity and inclusion in the current VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) world and contribute to creating workplaces that flourish and thrive.

Human Rights and Technology Project

Australian Human Rights Commission

The project looked at:
1. The challenges and opportunities for human rights of emerging technology.
2. Innovative ways to ensure human rights are prioritised in the design and governance of emerging technologies.
The project will report on and make recommendations for responsible innovation to protect human rights in Australia in 2019. 

 

In this context, Jerwin applied a vast range of methodologies from Complexity theory, Futures thinking to Systems thinking in order to delve deeper into the complex issues addressed in the conference and by the issues paper and proposed innovative approaches to community engagement on some of the key issues identified in the Issues Paper.

"I had a difficult upbringing. In Survival mode, my parents sacrificed their careers working their absolute hardest so I could make it. After many failures, dealing with depression and more difficulties, I found the gym and eventually, meditation as a lifesaving form of physical therapy. After chasing my passion(s) and staying true to my values, I’ve learned that staying true to yourself and learning from each other is the only way forward."
